From spreadsheet to dashboard
- Upload a table with column headers in the first nonempty row.
- Select a worksheet, then choose a grouping column and numeric measure.
- Use category bars to compare groups, or group by a date column for a trend.
- Filter the rows to update your metrics, chart and data explorer together.
Use actual Excel number/date cells, plain numeric text or ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD). Text containing currency symbols or thousands separators is excluded from numeric calculations. Formula results must be saved in Excel first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Use one table per worksheet. The first nonempty row becomes the header. Duplicate and blank headers receive unique names. Completely empty rows are ignored. Supported files are XLSX, XLS and CSV, up to 10 MB, 20 sheets, 20,000 data rows per sheet, 50,000 total data rows and 100 columns per sheet.
Choose a numeric measure and a grouping column. Sum and average exclude blank and nonnumeric measure values; row count includes every matching row. All filters affect metrics, charts and the table. Category charts show the 12 largest groups by absolute value; date trends show the first 50 dates. Metrics always cover all matching rows.
Excel numeric cells and plain decimal or scientific-notation text are supported. Currency symbols and thousands separators in text are not interpreted. Excel date cells and ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD) are recognized. Formula cells use saved results; formulas are not recalculated. Refresh formulas in Excel before uploading.
Spreadsheet contents are processed in this browser and are not uploaded, stored or included in analytics events. Clear the dashboard or leave the page to discard its data. The site still uses its standard page and navigation analytics.
